Connecting rods are designed and manufactured to withstand extreme level of stresses, engine temperatures and pressures.

However it is experienced that no connecting rod last forever. It is of great importance that during the overhaul and maintenance of diesel generating sets, connecting rods are removed and subject to following inspection:

I) Connecting rod big end and small end are to be checked for the development of taper and ovality.

II) MPI for crack detection is undertaken of serration area, face and connecting rod bolt sitting area. No cracks are permissible in connecting rods

III) Connecting rod alignment is checked.

RA Power Solutions has facilities to undertake complete reconditioning of the connecting rods. The connecting rods rebuilt by us are strictly as per the OEMs specifications.

We will like to emphasise that the rebuilt connecting rod is completely remanufactured similar to the quality and standards of the new connecting rods.

Following is the summary of process followed by RA Power Solutions to remanufacture  connecting rod:

I) Connecting rods are chemically cleaned and inspected by experienced technicians.

II) In case connecting rod qualifies and meet with the parameters, remanufacturing process is finalized.

III) Repeated magna flux is undertaken by experienced technicians in order to eliminate possibility of cracks.

IV) New small end bush is fitted.

V) Connecting rodw big end and small end are machined on a DRDO equipped latest generation of boring machine maintaining the alignment, taper and ovality of small end and big end strictly as per the tolerances stipulated by manufacturer.

VI) Quality control department undertake the checks and records are maintained.

18 Months Warranty on Remanufactured Connecting Rods

RA Power Solutions warrants its remanufactured connecting rods to be free from defects in workmanship or material and provides a replacement warranty for the duration of 18 months from the date of dispatch.

Minimum Cost, Save on Maintenance

Generally cost of remanufactured connecting rods is 25 to 40 % of the cost of new connecting rod supplied by the engine manufacturers. This results in to considerable saving to the owners.
