RA Power Solutions was approached by a company based in Gambia regarding failure of their main engine crankshaft of Allen PVBCS12 F.
RA Power Solutions deputed two technicians along with the necessary portable onsite crankshaft grinding machine to Banjul port Gambia.

After undertaking the inspection of the crankshaft it was observed that 3 number of crankpins were damaged due to bearing seizure and balance 3 number of crankpins had rough surface and bearing line marks.
Action taken for repair of Allen Engine PVBCS12 F Crankshaft
After checking the hardness, crack and various other technical parameters 2 number of crankpins were undersized of 0.5 mm and 1 number was undersize of 1.0 mm. Balanced crank pins were polished by specially designed latest crankshaft polishing machine..
The grinding of crankpin is permissible by the Allen Diesel as per following details:
