We observed that due to continuous running of diesel generating sets, the generator bearing develops the following problems:-

• Wear and tear of generator bearing due to continuous running of engine.
• With time, the white Babbitt metal which is used in case of generator bearing and alternator bearings gets worn out.
• The bearings get damaged due to an accident.
• Due to poor lubrication and oil.
• Due to over speeding, loss of alignment of alternator shaft, the bearings gets damaged.

RA Power Solutions was approached by a company based in US regarding their requirement of BEZ generator bearing for CKD skoda engine. The company have multiple numbers of CKD skoda engines bearing installed at various mining operations in Central America and South America. They find operation of CKD skoda engines to be easy and easy to maintain. The CKD skoda engines are popular for operation in most difficult environment, dusty condition and operation without any break continuously without break. Since the engines are manufactured 25-40 years back they faced the problem of non-availability of BEZ generator bearings and their number of CKD skoda engines came to the stand still due to want of BEZ generator bearings.

RA Power Solutions was approached by the client to develop and manufacture the bearing by doing the reverse engineering.

The drawing of BEZ generator bearing, Bearings for BEZ Alternator and CKD Skoda Engine bearing was prepared and manufacturing was planned.

RA Power Solutions was successful in development and manufacturing of BEZ alternator bearing strictly as per the drawing. We are giving below the picture of rough drawing of the bearing prepared and the photo of BEZ generator bearings under manufacturing in different stages. The bearing has been supplied,assembled and is in operation.

Manufacturing of Babbitt White Metal Alternator Bearing

RA Power Solutions have been manufacturing white metal Babbitt bearings for different applications for last forty years. We have the facilities to develop and manufacture the Babbitt white metal bearings up to 1500 mm outer diameter. The white metal babbitting is undertaken by us by centrifugal system which ensures dense and strong bonding with the bearing outer steel lining.
