From our experience onboard vessels, every onsite crankshaft repair begins with a detailed inspection rather than immediate machining. We check journal wear, ovality, taper, fillet radius condition, runout, and the required Ra surface finish before deciding the repair procedure. The finished journal must remain within the OEM regrind limits so that the correct undersize bearing shells can be installed and proper hydrodynamic lubrication is maintained during engine operation.

Working inside an engine room demands portable precision equipment, accurate measurement, and strict adherence to the engine manufacturer's specifications. Once machining is completed, we verify journal geometry, alignment, and bearing clearances before the engine is returned to service, ensuring reliable performance under normal operating loads.
